Hi, I’m Ellen Fleming

Currently, you can find me at the Massachusetts State House as the political reporter for WWLP.  I started in April of 2022 and have covered everything from the inauguration of the first female elected Governor of Massachusetts, to the legalization of sports betting and everything in between. 

I am an MMJ responsible for securing interviews, getting the right shot, clear sound, and putting packages together before they air.  I have had the opportunity to speak with everyone from the House Speaker, to the Senate President, to the Attorney General and Governor. 

I am also an Emmy-winning television production assistant with three years of experience behind the camera. I got my start as the Unit Manager & Production Coordinator at Chronicle, the longest-running news magazine program in the country. In addition to my daily responsibilities, I also produced multiple segments, line-produced, and was the on-site producer for all live shots.

I expanded WCVB’s digital offerings by launching “Chronicle the Podcast” and “Take 5 with Chris Gasper”.  I produced, recorded, and edited both podcasts, as well as appeared on “Take 5 with Chris Gasper”.  

Before WCVB, I was the Media Director for Senator John F. Keenan, where I was able to learn the ins and outs of the workings in the State House.

I am a strong believer in staying current by utilizing digital platforms to reach all audiences.  I am a proven self-starter who is committed to hard work and staying flexible in an ever-evolving industry.
